Nurses perform many duties in a hospital and other medical facilities. There are some nurses that attend to patients in their own homes or perform duties at clinics in stores like Walmart, CVS, or Walgreen’s. No matter wear a nurse is doing her job; she will often be required to wear a uniform, which usually consists of nursing scrubs.

There are the basic personal safety recommendations that include a lot of hand washing and proper disposal of contaminated items like needles that is common knowledge. Though all medical care professionals have specialized clothing to wear each day, not all nurses realize how important their uniform is to protecting them from contaminants and protecting their patients from cross contamination. Wearing a nursing uniform like nursing scrubs are another way of protecting oneself against infection and contamination.
