Putting a Nice Scrub Set Together

Monday, March 15th, 2010

scrub-setsNobody enjoys wearing the same clothes as someone else. Fortunately, you can purchase inexpensive scrubs today that will help to set you apart. Of course, these scrubs can also help you to look stylish. This is even easier today with the designers that are entering the world of nursing scrubs.

When putting together a scrub outfit, you probably want to avoid white unless you are required to because of the dress code of the facility that you work at. When choosing footwear, white should be avoided again. White is just too hard to keep clean.

Cherokee Scrubs Fashionable and Affordable

Friday, March 12th, 2010

cherokee-scrubs-for-nursesMost medical professionals have to wear medical scrubs to work everyday. If this includes you, then you should make the most of the choices that you have available to you whenever you go shopping for scrubs. While it is important to purchase comfortable, durable scrubs from a trusted, established company, you should look at the different styles as they come onto the market. For instance, Micra silk scrubs are now available and they really do feel like silk, even though they aren’t made of silk. They are actually made of 100% polyester, which is soft and flows just like silk does. There are a lot of different designs and colors of Cherokee Micra Silk scrubs available. All of them are high quality and very durable too.

Choosing the Right Nursing Scrub Colors

Monday, March 8th, 2010

nursing-scrub-colorsIn the beginning all nurses wore baggy white gowns with flaring white headdresses, just like nuns wore. However, nursing uniforms have truly evolved over the years and have becoming more and more unconventional, even being altered to use as sexy Halloween costumes. Even with the new styles and designer scrubs, the term “fashionable scrubs” still seems to be somewhat contradictory, though.

The hospital work environment is a very different work environment than most others and it is expected that the uniforms would be different, also. Still there is no reason to expect that fashion statements can only be made in office buildings. It wouldn’t be fair to nurses though and other medical personnel who want to be both fashionable and comfortable while working their long shifts.

Nurses and Breast Cancer Awareness

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

all-uniform-wear-breast-cancer-awareness-productsBreast cancer is a very serious disease that can strike women of any age. This is why cancer awareness is so important today. Those in the healthcare field and nursing fields are very much aware of this as they care for and stand by women going through treatment. Women really need to be able to get medical treatment just as soon as they notice the very first signs of a lump. When breast cancer is caught early, the survival rate is close to 90%. Sadly this doesn’t always happen and 40,000 women per year will die of this type of cancer (2010 statistics). It is unfortunate that these women were unable to detect their breast cancer while it was still in its early stages. Sometimes women are scared to get checked. Sometimes women don’t get checked because of the fact that there isn’t nearly enough being done in the way of breast cancer awareness. Nurses and others in the healthcare industry are in a unique position to help inform men and women about breast cancer.
