Fashion and Nursing Scrubs

Monday, November 23rd, 2009

fashionable-nurses-scrubsAnyone who has been in the medical field for a long time remembers the old nursing uniforms and scrubs. The nursing uniform has been the norm for medical professionals throughout past century and a half. These scrubs use to be stiff, no nonsense, plain white dresses with white shoes and white caps. During that time, unfortunately, there were very few style variations available for nurses. It was also a field that women dominated so there weren’t nursing uniforms or scrubs for men. Today, this has changed for the better though. Not only have nursing uniforms become more fashionable, they are more practical. You won’t see many nurses in dresses and with so many men in the field of nursing; there is a wide variety of nursing scrubs styles that men can wear. There are numerous reasons behind this change, which has led to the current options that are available in scrubs today.

Care and Cleaning of Uniforms

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

caring-and-cleaning-uniformsNo matter how neat a person is, uniforms (especially nursing scrubs) can get dirty, stained, and need disinfecting. Some companies may have a laundry service for cleaning uniforms or facility on site for uniform cleaning. Even if you have laundry facilities at work you may still not want to use them because they may not efficiently clean the uniform. Fortunately, there are ways in which you can get rid of dirt and stains at home. You can also disinfect your medical uniform or other uniform while keeping your uniforms’ great color and new look.

work uniformDo uniform shorts sell in the winter? Well, yes they do! While most people think about winter and see snow covered fields, frosty car windows, and bundling up, there are those who live in southern states that have a different image of winter. After a long summer of high uncomfortable temperatures and staying indoors with the air conditioner running, winter means returning to enjoying the outdoors again. In the southern states, uniform shorts keep selling in the winter. Even in colder climates, there are those who will buy shorts. Some work environments are warm or even hot and these workers want comfort. Students that live in the southern states may wear shorts year round for their school uniforms.

Food Stains on Uniforms

Monday, November 9th, 2009

restaurant waitress uniformMost uniforms, especially those for the restaurant industry, have stain release or stain guard. Stains can still happen because men, women, and children in any type of uniform eat. No matter how careful someone is when eating, there will come a time when food ends up on his or her uniform. The only way to prevent it would be to wear a bib, which we know isn’t practical. When wearing uniforms with stain release, the uniform will clean up pretty easy and there will be no stains.

Uniform Free Restaurant

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

uniform-for-restaurant You don’t have to be required to wear a specific restaurant uniform to shop at a retailer like All Uniform Wear. Even if the restaurants dress code is as simple and black pants with a white shirt, you can shop at a uniform supply store or order online through a uniform store. There are advantages to shopping at a uniform store instead of shopping at a Walmart or Kmart. Price, quality, value, selection, and durability are all often better when purchasing clothing through a restaurant uniform supply store.
