Putting a Nice Scrub Set Together

Monday, March 15th, 2010

scrub-setsNobody enjoys wearing the same clothes as someone else. Fortunately, you can purchase inexpensive scrubs today that will help to set you apart. Of course, these scrubs can also help you to look stylish. This is even easier today with the designers that are entering the world of nursing scrubs.

When putting together a scrub outfit, you probably want to avoid white unless you are required to because of the dress code of the facility that you work at. When choosing footwear, white should be avoided again. White is just too hard to keep clean.

Why the Medical Community Uses Scrubs

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

medical-scrubsAlmost everyone who works in the medical field today wears scrubs. Just think about everyone who works at your doctor’s office or local hospital. The only ones that you probably see not wearing scrubs are doctors who wear long lab coats and the people who work in the front office and maybe wearing street clothes or “business dress”. On the other hand, some doctors, their assistants, surgeons, technologists, lab workers, caregivers, and people who transport the patients all wear scrubs. While these scrubs use to be all white, then they were green, and now you can find them in almost any color. There are even scrubs that are available today which have cartoon characters and other novelty prints on them.

Types of popular Scrub Styles

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Types of popular Scrub StylesA part of self-image is how we feel in what we wear. This is also true for nurses and other healthcare professionals that must wear nursing scrubs to comply with a dress code. When you wear something nice, that fits good, and looks good on you, it can help you to feel really good about yourself. Unfortunately, medical employees cannot just wear whatever they want. They must wear nursing scrub uniforms at work. Fortunately, there are uniform designs available that are quite impressive, stylish, and professional looking. Of course, there are also some designs that may be too simple and unfashionable for some employees and they simply don’t want to wear them. Others in the healthcare industry prefer basic and simple or are required to wear that style at the medical facility that they work at.

Nursing Scrubs and Nursing Shoes

Monday, February 1st, 2010

Nursing Scrubs and Nursing ShoesAny nurse will tell you that a good pair of nursing shoes is considered to be a good investment. This is because without the right footwear to support you while you spend long hours on your feet at work, you will not be able to last long nor will you be very efficient at the job that you do. For this reason you will never see a nurse wearing a pair of high heels or ballet flats to work! These shoes simply will not be able to offer a nurse the support that your feet need for a 12-hour shift as a nurse or the cushion that is needed. Now you can clearly see why it is so important to choose the right nursing shoes to wear with nursing scrubs.

Children and Nursing Scrub Prints

Friday, January 29th, 2010

nurse-scrubs-printsYou might not be able to wear prints or maybe you don’t like cartoon prints and other scrub designs made for nurses who work with children. You can still put the children at ease. Since children can be scared by hospitals, there can be a barrier built between them and the nurses who care for them, so it is important that a nurse does everything they can to bridge that gap. Studies have shown that nurses will be able to do less scaring of children and more caring by simply brightening up their wardrobe. The fun prints are ideal, but bright solids will do the job of putting children at ease, also.
