Hospitals are for Smiles

Tuesday, January 12th, 2010

Hospitals are for SmilesEspecially if you see a child in the hospital or have to watch one go through a painful procedure, you don’t think of smiles in a hospital setting. When a medical professional walks into a pediatric hospital room and gets a big grin from a child because he or she just loves the Sponge Bob or Scooby Do print on the nursing scrubs, the nurse will understand that hospitals are for smiles.

Medical professionals who work with children can make a great choice by wearing scrubs that have been made specifically with children in mind. This is because children are usually under a lot of stress whenever they are in any kind of medical environment, even if it is just for a short amount of time. So, whenever they see their caregiver dressed in cartoons, their stay will become more pleasant, the healing process will go faster, and they will be happier. While this is only a small thing, cartoon scrubs can actually help children recall positive memories, feel more at ease, and trust you more because they see that you like the same things that they do. Some children open up more and will also communicate more when they are around a nurse wearing a cartoon print nursing uniform.

It can be used to described what a person wears on a daily basis or it can describe specific clothing associated with a particular profession. The word has been around for a long time and a lot of people don’t realize that the word “uniform” actually means “distinct.” Over the years it has come to mean a distinct outfit that has been designed to identify a specific group of people who are wearing that uniform. In fact, this word has actually come to be associated with uniformity, consistency, and standardization. Some may even go so far as to say that this word is synonymous with the word harmony. While you may not think that the words uniform and harmony could fit together logically, whenever you take the time to understand the meaning of these two words you will clearly see that they do represent the same type of thinking.

Christmas Themed Scrubs in the Workplace

Saturday, January 9th, 2010

christmas-nurse-scrubs Oftentimes medical scrubs are very dull and simplistic. While these plain colors are very practical, they can be a little drab sometimes. This is especially true at certain times of the year, such as around Christmas. At this time of the year the rest of the world seems to be dressed up in vibrant colors making hospitals and medical offices look dull in comparison. Fortunately, it doesn’t have to be this way. You can now join in on the fun by wearing holiday themed medical scrubs.
